What is the importance of being a Fee-Only Financial Advisory Firm?

As a Fee-Only Financial Advisory Firm our sole compensation is from the fees that our clients pay us. This means we do not receive any commissions or referral fees for recommendations of any of the financial products or services we offer our clients.

By working with LPS Financial, a Fee-Only Advisory Firm, clients can be assured that they will be receiving objective financial advice.

What does RIA stand for?

RIA stands for Registered Investment Advisor. As a New York State Registered Investment Advisor we have a fiduciary obligation to put our clients interests above our own.

A Registered Investment Advisor contrasts with a Registered Representative who generates commissions for selling products and does not have an obligation to put their clients’ interests first.

Who is the custodian of my assets?

We have 2 companies providing clearing & custody for our clients assets.

Charles Schwab & Co:

Sterne Agee & Leach:  The firm was acquired by INTL FCStone.

Client accounts are established in their own name and we provide clients with online access to view and monitor their accounts. As advisors, at no point do assets ever end up in our custody.

How does LPS get paid?

We are a “Fee-Only” advisory Firm, which means we get paid a fixed percentage of the assets under management in your account. We do not engage in any commission-based business.

How do I know my money will be safe?

Your investments are held with our third party custodian, Charles Schwab & Co. or INTL FCStone. We never take custody of your assets. As your fiduciary, we can only execute trades in your account and bill you for our services. We never have the ability to withdraw funds from your account.
